This was taken during the filming of KURBAAN at Mehboob Studios, Bandra.
February 2009

I just received this video from the AFI 20/20 program that AMAL is a part of. We are very happy that AMAL is part of this fantastic program that takes films to various countries around the world.
A few months back we were at Whistling Woods speaking to the students in regards to our film. The students consisted of actors, directors and producers. It was a fantastic session. It was great to be with Richie Mehta and Koel Purie again.
This film still has legs. Considering we opened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2007 and have gone on to play in many festivals worldwide, it amazes me that the film is still getting requests to be screened.
It goes to show how many people really want to see this film. I continue to joke with the Amal team that when we turn 80 we’ll still be promoting this film. I’m very happy that there still is a demand for the film. It’s certainly close to my heart and has a message that’s very important for everyone.
Winchester is a beautiful city just an hour south west of London. Of course this is traffic & weather dependent
They have award winning pubs & restaurants, great walking paths around the city, unique shops and a lovely cathedral.
Being apart of Amal has taken me to cities and countries that I might not have the opportunity to visit. There are so many wonderful place to visit in this world!
The screening took place at Everyman Cinema. A unique cinema that used to be a church! It certainly beats going to the multiplexes.
They make great coffee and great chocolate snacks. I received a lovely welcome from the film society and from their audience. People who love good films with good stories. It felt great to be a part of it all. I was tempted to watch the screening of the film because of the venue. However, I’ve seen it so many times that I decided to sit in the cafe and enjoy the coffee.
We had a fantastic Q&A afterwards where questions ranged from the filming process to our own values of today. I met some fantastic people and thank them once again for the warm welcome.
While I was putting this entry together I got an email from Mike from the Film society to tell me that the film got a 89.7% rating from their audience. Looks like it went well.
As Steven Bray, producer of Amal, recently said ‘this film still has lots of legs’.
Recently, when I was in Toronto I had a photo shoot with Ian Brown. It’s for a very interesting photo exhibit later this year. I can’t say much about it at the moment. However, here is a shot from the shoot.
Ian Brown is a very talented photographer in Toronto who has been doing some great work worldwide.

Welcome to my blog.
Why have a blog?
This is one question I kept asking myself when the thought ‘popped’ into my mind. What is the purpose? Why do I want to do this? When I told a few close friends about what I was thinking of doing one friend responded with “Sounds great! But the question I have for you is why???” Little did he know the same question was swirling around in my mind.
What is the purpose of this blog?
Entertainment for others? My own popularity? Information Sharing?
What is it?
Then I thought about it more and realized why this thought came into my mind. I recently met a friend for coffee while I was in Toronto for the Christmas holidays. We were catching up since we both live in different parts of the world. Her in LA and myself in the UK. I was telling her about an incident that occurred while I was in India and she immediately responded with “I hope you’re writing this all down it would make for a great movie!”
That statement was the spark of the idea for the blog.
When I reflect back at the experiences that I’ve had in my life I realize how lucky I am. I’m in a career that I’ve always wanted to do as a child. Being an actor has taken me all over the world and has allowed me to meet many interesting people.
There are people, places and things that have inspired me. I hope to be able to share those stories in this blog. Who knows perhaps even inspire others.
If nothing else this blog will be a nice journal of my upcoming year.
Enjoy!
